TRAFALGAR Trafalgar School For Girls 3495 Simpson Montreal, Canada H3G 2J7 Edited by Lisa Lefebvre and Adrienne Samberg MESSAGE PRINCIPAL'S Dear Graduates, By the time you read this note, you'll be well installed in your new academic settings. I hope that you all make the most ofthe many new opportunities available to you, and that you have the courage to follow your dreams. What I'll remember most ofyour class is your affection for one another. Overfiveyears youbuiltmanybonds, and shared laugh- ter and tears, success and sorrow. No one of you ever seemed to suffer or celebrate alone, to judge by the range of emotions I saw every day. You're fortunate and unusual in having enjoyed such mutual support. Yourlegacy willbethe greatmemoriesyour teachers have of you, and the positive impact you've had on younger girls in the school through your example ofhard work, sense of fun, and positive energy. AsyougraduatethisJune, you leave Trafas aunited and forward- looking group ready to do great things. In the years to come you will have a ready-made networkofwomen ~ Trafalgar Old Girls ~ to supportyouprofessionally andpersonally. Stay intouch with the school and each other, and cherish the important friendships you've built. My young daughters sing a nursery song that like many has a lesson for adults: "Make new friends, but keep the old/One is silver but the other gold." Be golden and have fun. Tigers, muffins, ties, 3:11 endings . . . what makes a girl a Tra- fite? Is ither school spirit, her love for learning, her confidence? Probably. Butperhapsit's simply theknowledgethateverymorn- ingofherhigh schoolcareer, therestoodawarmandhappyplace on the corner of Simpson and Dr. Penfield, just waiting to help her feel at ease. For although Trafhas been a struggle at times, and we're certainly relieved to be "outtie", we are leaving with somuchmorethanwecouldeverhavedreamedofacquiringfrom a school. And what a year to end it with! The huge success of the Breast CancerWalk, ourmany school trips, Stu and Andy, the No Rally that Traf couldn't stay away from . . . you may all have your individual memories, butjustthinkhow many areconnectedwith the school. As we move out and away from Traf, the world may sometimes seem very big and intimidating. But Trafites are lucky people. We made it through the first scary days at Traf . . . the middle hard-working and stressful one (actually, I don't know if we're over those ones yet . . .), and the last exciting ones. So be sure to rememberthatthetwinkle inoureyes isaresultofbeing mem- bers of one of the most special groups of people to ever pass through Traf. To the class of 96, well, you know how it was. Don't forget we made it together! 4 'Lcfioes STUDENT COUNCIL p LttoRt:JennaTadgell, LindsayHollinger, VanessaFerreira-Valente, AlisonBramwell, NatashaDevroye,TaraGlazer, MoneenNasmith, LaurelFaigelman Soctom Lt to Rt: Maggie Castle, Melissa Radford.
