From here to there you'll confront a range of options and choices. In considering a career path, you'llfeelpressiu-etomakea "practical" choice. How- ever well meant, advice from others will most often be useless: consider it, but listen to your heart. Your personaljourney will take you in surprising directions, wherethe smallestdecisionsmayCinRobert Frost'sterms)make "allthe difference." Intelligence andhardworkalonewillnotguaranteeyoursuccess. Onethingyoucancounton: tobe successful inany fieldyoumustkeeplearning. Yourcompletionofhigh school merely sets you up for education ofa broader type. Thesamewillholdforuniversity. Considerthis good news. Let me wish you all an abiding optimism and en- ergy, plus a little luck at the right moment. I've already freighted this piece with too many cliches, butI'llrisktwomorethatstrikeme asshortthoughts worth keeping at any age: nourish your spirit and live your dreams. GeoffDowd MESSAGE VICE PRINCIPAL'S Iwas very pleasedwhen Iwas askedbythisyear's "Echoes" editors; Raisa Zaheeruddin and Jennifer Friedmann to write a message in the Yearbook. I feel that the Graduating Class of 1995 has made a positive contribution to the school and I am very confident that this year's yearbook will reflect in words and pictures the positive spirit ofall the stu- dents at Trafalgar. When I am asked by prospective parents and stu- dents what makes Trafalgar unique, I have no dif- ficultyinanswering, "Thewarmfriendlyfeelingthat is present from the moment you enter the Simpson Streetdoor." Somanyofourrecentgraduatesreturn tovisitthe school andtosharetheirnewexperiences with their former teachers. Underthe leadership ofour new Principal, Mr. Geoff Dowd, I feel confidentwe will continue to evolve and grow. Trafalgarwill alwaysrespectitstraditionsbut it will face the 21st century with a renewed and revised vision. To Raisa, Jennifer, Mrs. Solkin, Ms den Hertog, Mrs. Hrycyna and all the Yearbook Staffmy congratu- lations for their hard work in producing this superb rofloction of life at Trafalgar. To the 1994/95 Graduating Class who have con- tributed HO much to the school over the years, I send my best wishes forsuccess, good health, humour and happinoHH in life. The '94-'95 school year began innocently enough. I came to school early, left late, and spent the evening working. You can imagine how surprised I was to find that almost every subsequent school day followed the same pattern! However, similar sacrifices by all the prefects aided and abetted a mini-revolution this past year. Decorating the entire school in black and orange, finding our soul mates amongst LCC males, hearing a piano played by toe, acquiring a tiger as Trafs official mascot, passing the button, kick- ingvendingmachinesto liberate Aeros, auctioningthe staffs culinary crea- tions, French assemblies, - these were all prefect-initiated contributions towards an unconventional school atmosphere. To the 11 individuals who made this and more possible: it was well worth the lunchtime loss. Future prefects, be warned! Behind the glory and the sash (or in your cases tie) is a year oftears, stress, insomnia, and above all, immeasurable satisfaction. Nilima Gulrajani Head-Girl STUDENT COUNCIL FromLto R; Back Row: M.
