The global economy is in unprecedented turmoil as politicians ignore the realities of excessive debt: Every single hour of every single day, the U.S. government spends about $200 million that it doesn’t have—every hour, every day, seven days a week, day and night, 365 days a year.[1] There is a desperate (and widespread) attempt to forestall the recognition that the United States has become the world’s largest debtor and is currently bankrupt. There appears to be a high likelihood of a major collapse facing the unprepared. And there are other paradigm shifts threatening our fundamental foundations as well. Numerous other uncertainties continue to pervade every aspect of our lives and our awareness. Scientists, the primary priesthood in our society, now recognize that even the “constants” of physics are changing, which implies—in their words, not ours —“that our reality is but a shadow of a larger reality.”[2] (No kidding! That’s what the Bible has declared all along.[3]) As stochastic electrodynamics are beginning to displace the traditional “quantum electrodynamics,” when confronted with the realities of the overlooked (and rediscovered) zero-point energy,[4] our very foundational physical constructs now appear myopic and insufficient. As gravity is eclipsed by electromagnetic forces at intergalactic distances,[5] our perceptions of the universe are being replaced by an “electric” sky, and are accompanied by speculations that the entire universe is some kind of superhologram, which further challenges any concept of boundaries to our perceived reality. As “evolution” (or, more specifically, biogenesis) is increasingly acknowledged by experts as insufficient and erroneous as an explanation of our origins, the resulting tensions in our society are challenging the very existence of “truth” and the role of design throughout the universe.[6] So it should not surprise us to see refugees from a bankrupt materialism being subsequently driven into mysticism and the paranormal, lunging even farther away from the empirically verifiable. The panorama of alternatives provides a spectrum of confusion in which a biblical perspective will be increasingly difficult to maintain within the avalanche of the paradigm changes emerging in so many (mutually orthogonal) directions. Fortunately, it is a great and refreshing encouragement to encounter a skill and an aptitude that appear unique to the occasion. Cris Putnam’s previous work on Exo- Vaticana[7] demonstrated a depth of scholarship and perspicacity in addressing what has to be one of the most difficult areas to research competently. As one well informed in that specialized area, I can attest to his work as unmatched as a milestone in its field. I believe that this current work will prove equivalent and essential to the serious thinker as we all face the emerging turmoil on our collective horizons. How will you deal with empirical validations of extrasensory perceptions? Of near- death experiences? Nonbiblical spirits? Evidence that the mind goes far beyond the organ we know as the brain? If our eschatological perceptions have any validity, the current trends toward a “Supernatural Worldview” will prove to be a critical challenge to those who take their personal destiny seriously, and we can certainly anticipate that our adversaries will exploit these challenges to advance their own agendas. There is, indeed, a cosmic climax emerging on our near horizon. We need to understand where our own personal perspectives fit in. This authoritative study will provide a sound foundation to meet the very critical challenges facing all of us in the turbulence ahead. Put on your armor and prepare for a provocative ride. In the service of our Coming King, Chuck Missler
