This _ show is truly a celebration and a showcase that. provides unique forms of skills and talents of our children and youth. Believe in You show marks its 3rd_ year. Celebrating Canada's “Culture Days” makes our show very special this year. Culture Day was initiated in recognizing the growth of Canada's vibrant arts and cultural sector contributing to a healthy and stable society. TCASD is pleased to be partnered with Town of Ajax to commemorate this day. “Believe in You 2010”, youth and children talent show is dedicated in bringing our children together to share their hidden talents, skills, knowledge and most of all to express Tamil culture. During the process of this wonderful production, the youth and the children developed friendship, mutual understanding and lifetime skills of leadership, confidence, patience, interpersonal skills and time management skills. | am very pleased to announce that we have more than110 children participating in this event tonight and children young as two years old. Everyone contributed countless hours of practice and preparation time regardless of their school work and personal commitments and showed a phenomenal team effort. This is what you are witnessing tonight! This year was a very busy year for TCASD with many new programs and expansion of existing programs. All work of art covered the four basic areas of our focus, Academic, Culture, Community and Social. The highlights of this year consisted of various competitions, University counselling/job fair, Lights of Hope Charity Gala, participating in community celebrations and youth trip to Dave and Busters. My sincere thanks and best wishes to all the children, youth and our members for their time and commitment in organizing this show. She has been a high level competitor in Track and Field for many years. As passionate about education as she is about sports, Shelley-Ann completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Saences and English and a Masters in Educational Psychology in May 2006. This was accomplished while she attended the University of Nebraska on a Track and Field scholarship. The former sprinter/hurdler gained All-American honors during her time at Nebraska, and also served as a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Board. Shelley-Ann was recruited to bobsleigh for the 2007 season and has been on the Canadian World Cup Team ever since. Over the last three seasons, she has set 5 World Start records and placedas high as 2ndin the World Cup competition.
