Insodoing,itchallengeswhatisprobablytheconventionalwisdominthesocial sciences.Thisbookwillhelptoplacethestudyofenvironmentalpoliticsonpar withothercomparativestudiessuchasGostaEsping-Andersen’sThreeWorlds of Welfare Capitalism, Arend Lijphart’s Democracies, and G. Bingham Powell’s ContemporaryDemocracies. Lyle Scruggs is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Connecticut.Hisresearchandteachinginterestsareintheareasofcomparative politicaleconomyandenvironmentalpolicy.Hisarticleshaveappearedinthe BritishJournalofPoliticalScience,EcologicalEconomics,theJournalofPolitics,and Political Research Quarterly.
