Insodoing,itchallengeswhatisprobablytheconventionalwisdominthesocial sciences.Thisbookwillhelptoplacethestudyofenvironmentalpoliticsonpar withothercomparativestudiessuchasGostaEsping-Andersen’sThreeWorlds of Welfare Capitalism, Arend Lijphart’s Democracies, and G. Bingham Powell’s ContemporaryDemocracies.
