Dorsal surface with coppery tinge, more strongly, metallically shining. Body moreelongate. ThisnewspeciesresemblesSt1-ongyliumpaiMAsUMoTo,1998,originally describedfromNorthThailand,butcanbedistinguishedfromthelatterbythesmaller bodywiththediatonewider(1/5thewidthofaneyediameterinthefemaleofS.pal). Itisworthnotingthatthemalegenitaliaarefeeblydehiscentattheapices. Stlongyliu,npakse,1sesp nov (Figs 4,15-16) Dark castaneous,hea pronotumandlegsdarker incolour,hea pronotumand scutellumsericeouslyshining,elytramoderately,somewhatvitreouslyshining,ventral sidesalutaceous;eachsurfacealmostglabrous.Bodyoblong-ovate,convexlongitudi- nally. Astheheadis lost intheholotype(male), theheadwasdescribedona female paratype: - Head subdecagona1, covered with isodiametricmicrosculpture, closely punctate,particularlysoonneck;clypeussemicircular,depressedinbasalpart,gently bentventradanteriorly,morestronglybent inlateralparts, truncatein front, fronto- clypea1borderwidelycurvedandfinelysulcate;genaeobliquelyraise depressedand almostimpunctateinareasbeforeeyes,withroundedlateralmargins; fronswidelyT- shaped,gentlyinclinedanteriadintheareabetweeneyes,abruptlysocloseto fronto- cIypea1border,witharatherlargeshallowimpressionininterocularspace,whichis0.8 StudyofAsianStrongyliini,XIV 177 times thewidth of transverse diameter ofaneye indorsal view; vertex weakly de- pressed in anterior part. Pronotum(male)transverselysubhexagona1,1.43timesaswideaslong,widestat themiddle;apexsublinear,weaklyrimmed,therimbeingsparsely,minutelypunctate andtaperinglaterad;baseweaklyborderedandridged,theridgefeeblybisinuous,ta- peringlaterad;sidesrathersteeplydeclinedtolateralmargins,whicharefinelyridge dentateatthemiddle,andvisiblefromabove; frontangleobtusewithroundedcorner, hindangleobtusely angulate; discgentlyconvex, coveredwithisodiametricmicro- sculpture, rather closely, irregularly punctate, impressedat themiddleand closeto baseoneachside.ScutellumsubequilateraItriangularwith feeblyroundedsides,gent- lyelevate coveredwith isodiametricmicrosculpture,sparselyscatteredwithminute, aciculatepunctures. Elytra(male)elongatedsubfusiform,about2.1timesas longaswide,4.4times thelengthand1.5timesthewidthofpronotum,widestat apical3/7;dorsumrather stronglyconvex,veryweaklydepressedinbasal t/5,highestat themiddle;discpunc- tate-striate, thepunctures instriaesmalland closelyset; intervalsstrongly convex, coveredwithisodiametricmicrosculpture,scatteredwithmicroscopicpunctures,with 1st,3rd,5thand7thintervalsreachingbase;humerirathernoticeablyconvex,covered withisodiametricmicrosculpture,scatteredwithminutepunctures,sparselyaciculate; apicesroundlyproduced. Maleanal sterniteweakly, ellipticallydepressed, slightly truncateat apex. Legs medium-sized;maleprotibiawithventral faceweaklygougedandhairedinapical2/5; malemetatibia weakly curved interiad inmiddle, with apical 1/3 of ventral face slightlygougedandhaired;malemetatibiahairedinapicalhalf,withventral facein basal2/5weakly gouged; ratiosof thelengthsofpro-,meso- andmetatarsomeres: 0.20,0.13,0.14,0.13,0.44;0.82,0.46,0.38,0.24,0.58;1.23,0.34,0.21,0.52. Malegenitaliaelongatedsubfusiform, 1.7mm in lengthand0.3mm inwidth, withbasalpiecegentlycurvednearbaseinlateralview,weaklyridgedinanteriorpart alongmedial line; fusedlateral lobeselongated triangular, 0.7mm inlength, feebly concaveinanteriorpartalongmedial line,withacuteapices. Ingeneral features,thisnewspeciesratherresemblesStrongylilunsiidum MAsuMoTo,1998,fromNorthThailan butcaneasilybedistinguishedfromthelatter bythebody larger(7.5mminS.siidum)andmoreelongate,withthepronotumnar- rower,themaleprotibiaweaklygougedandhairedinapical2/5oftheventral face,the 178 Kimio MAsUMoTo malemetatibiaweaklycurvedinteriadinmiddleandslightlygougedandhairedinapi- cal1/3oftheventral face,themalemetatibiahairedinapicalhalfandweaklygouged inbasal2/5oftheventral face,andthemalegenitaliabolder. Strongyliullt ro'ldonia'Mntsp nov. (Figs 5,17-18) This newspeciesclosely resemblesSir・ongyliumazuripes ARDolN, 1967, from Laosingeneral features,butcanbedistinguishedfromthelatterbythefollowingchar- acteristics. Bodymorerobust,elytrawithoutbluishmetallicluster.Headlesscoarselypunc- tate; clypeuswider, fronto-clypea1bordermoreclearly sulcatein awideU-shape; genaemorestrongly raise withoutermarginsobtusely angular; fronssomewhat T- shaped,diatoneabout1/6timesthewidthoftransversediameter ofaneye (as inS azu1・1pes), lessstrongly impressedatthemiddleinposteriorpart.Eyesalittlesmaller, subreniform,morenoticeably rounded latera morestrongly inlaidintoheadposte- riad. Antennaesubclavate(subfiliform in S azuripes), reaching basal t/4 of elytra, sevenapicalsegmentsobviouslyflattenedanddilatedtowardseachapex, ratioofthe lengthofeachsegment frombasetoapex: 0.41, 0.17,0.83,0.56, 0.48,0.45, 0.46, 0.44,0.41,0.40, 048. . Pronotumsubquadrate,1.3timesaswideaslong,widestslightlybeforethemid- dle;apexalmoststraight,rimmed,therimtaperinglateradandscatteredwithmicro- scopic punctures; basemorenoticeablybisinuous, lessboldly rimmed, therimscat- teredwithminutepunctures;sidessteeplydeclinedtolateralmargins,separated from ventralsidesbyfineridges,whicharenotdentateasinS azuripesand visible from above; frontanglesrounde hindanglessubrectangular(ratheracuteinSazlu-1pes)in dorsal view;discsimilar insurfacestructuretothat inS azurlpes.Scutellumnearly equilateral triangular with feebly roundedsides (elongatedbilateral triangular in S azurlpes),weaklyconvex,scatteredwithmicroscopicpuncturesinlateralparts. Elytraalittlemoreelongate,abouttwiceaslongaswide,widestslightlybehind themiddle,3.8timesthelengthand l3timesthewidthofpronotum;dorsum less strongly tri-undulate, morestronglydepressedamong theareabetweenscutellarstri- oles,highestatbasal t/3;discpunctate-striate,thepunctures instriaelargerateach bottom,smallerandmostlyoblongonuppersurface(largerandsomewhat rhombicin S azurlpes); humeri lessstrongly swollen laterad; apicesmorenoticeably produced andslightlydehiscent. Maleanalsterniteweaklydepressedinmedic-apicalpart(clearly,sube11iptica11y depressedinSazu1・1pes),truncateatapex,withlateralcornersfeeblyprotrudent.Legs medium-sized;maleprotibiaobliquelygougedinanteriorhalfofventral face(almost simpleinSa,iu-1pes);malemesotibiaweaklycurvedinteriad(almostthesameasin‘S azul・ipes);malemetatibiagentlythickenedapicad(weaklytwistedinmiddle,withinte- rior faceslightlygougedinS a7:u1・ipes); ratiosofthe lengthsofpro- andmesotarsi StudyofAsianStrongyliini,XIV 179 (metatarsi lost in theholotype): 0.20,0.15,0.13,0.14, 0.67;1.58, 0.63, 0.51,0.34, 0.89 Malegenitaliaabout2.10mminlengthand0.34mminwidth,weaklycurvedin lateral view; basal pieceelongatedovate,withanteriorpart raisedandweaklypro- longed;fusedlaterallobes0.95mminlength,veryslender,withacuteapices.
