Rockin Pneumonia Line Dance Calvin Campbell Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu was a R&R song made popular in 1972 by Johnny Rivers. The line dance was probably choreographed about the same time period. This dance routine has been used for many other tunes. I thought many of you might enjoy seeing the original dance routine (Click Here) and hearing the Johnny River version of the music. (Click Here). The video was made from a clip out of six TV shows taped in 1995. Here is a short description of the dance routine. I don’t try to get beginner dancers to do a grapevine vine step. I just teach side-close-side-touch. What the line dancers call a “triple” is really a quick two-step. I sometimes use the words quick-quick-quick-turn to cue it. ….1-4 Vine Right ….5-8 Vine Left ..9-12 Vine Right 13-16 Vine Left 17-20 Two-Step Forward and Turn Right (Triple and turn) 21-24 Two-Step Forward and Turn Right (Triple and turn) 25-28 Two-Step Forward and Turn Right (Triple and turn) 29-32 Moving Forward Step, Tap, Step, Tap (Clap your hands as you tap your toe to the floor.
