Texts of articles submitted for the conference were accepted for publication in theconferencematerialsonthebasisoftwoindependentreviewsofboth:members of the Scientific Committee of the conference, as well as recognized authorities in the field of civil engineering and transport. The reviewers were chosen in accor- dancewiththeircompetences and theprinciple ofavoidingconflicts ofinterest—a personal relationship between the reviewer and the author, professional subordi- nation, and direct scientific cooperation in the last two years before the review. Each review was concluded with a clear recommendation to accept or reject a reviewed article. Small or serious corrections to the submitted manuscripts with additionalpeerreviewcycleswerealsopossible.About40%ofthefinallyaccepted manuscriptsforpublicationhavebeensubjectedtothere-verificationprocedure.In case of negative opinions, the submitted articles have been rejected. This situation occurred for about 30% of the articles sent. The review took place in accordance withthe“singleblind”procedure, sotheauthorsdidnotknowthenamesofpeople assessing their work. After receiving the required number of two positive reviews, the Organizing Committee sent such information to the authors, ending the eval- uation phase of the articles. Before the final decision on qualifying for publication in the conference materials, the authors “responses to reviewers” comments were absolutely required. The entire process of submitting, reviewing, and accepting articles has been carried out electronically using the System Coffee platform. Wewouldliketothankalltheauthorsforthepresentationoftheirscientificand implementation achievements, as well as all participants for taking part in lively discussionsduringtheconference.Specialthankstothereviewersforinsightfuland reliableevaluationofthesubmittedarticles.WearealsogratefultotheOrganizing Committee for the hard work of preparing and conducting the conference. v fi International Scienti c Conference Transport of the 21st Century Conference organized by the Faculty of Transport under the auspices of His Magnificence Rector of WarsawUniversity ofTechnology and The Committee on Transport of the Polish Academy of Sciences Ryn, June 9–12, 2019 Conference Goal The conference aims at presentation of achievements of both Polish and foreign scientificandresearchcentersdealingwithrail, road, airandmarinetransportissues in technical and organizational aspects as well as at integration of researchers and education environment in discipline of civil engineering and transport.
