MrEduardoLopez-JamarMartinez,DeputyDirector-GeneraloftheSpanish InstituteofOceanography,welcomedtheparticipantstoSpainandremindedthemofthe relationshipbetweenhisInstitute,setupin1914,andCECAF. Heremarkedthatthis relationshiphadbeenmutuallybeneficialtobothstructures.HeinformedMembersof thevariousresearchprogrammesconductedintheInstitute.Heremarkedthatfisheries statisticscollectedbyIEOhadalwayscontributedsignificantlytotheactivitiesof CECAFworkingparties.HeassuredtheSub-Committeethattheinformationcollected wouldcontinuetobemadeavailabletoitsworkinggroupsbecausehestronglybelieved thatIEOsharesCECAF'sroleinensuringthesustainableexploitationoffisheries resourcesintheareacoveredbytheCommittee. Inconclusion,MrLopez-Jamar reiteratedhisgovernment’scontinuedsupportfortheactivitiesofCECAF. ADOPTIONOFTHEAGENDAANDARRANGEMENTSFORTHESESSION 5.
