s a n n e t e n u g A o l a t an c tr c uo d oH r P May 2010 n Years of RF design experience and the latest modelling software allow us to design horn antennas to our g customers' particular technical specfications. Gain, beamwidth and i operational power level s requirements are integrated into the design process at the outset, whilst e mechanical and environmental considerations are also very often D major contributing factors. n o Our fully equipped workshops undertake all of our general manufacturing, whilst specialised i processes such as laser cutting and t wire-erosion are sub contracted. c Welded horns range from WG4 to WG16, while our electroforming u facility allows us to produce millimetric horns. d Many of our more exotic horn o antennas require very demanding manufacturing tolerances, a routine r aspect of the work carried out by our team of highly skilled P technicians. g Once realised 'in the metal', our horns are fully tested to the n required specifications using a comprehensive range of i calibrated and traceable to t national standards test equipment. s Radiation patterns and gain e measurements are made either within our anechoic chamber, or T on one of our outdoor test ranges. A number of radome options are s available. These range from a simple, functional cover to e prevent the ingress of dirt or air- borne particles, to much more m sophisticated pressure tested radomes, designed to withstand the internal pressurisation often used in high power applications o such as EMC testing. Extreme environmental conditions d can also dictate further measures to maintain both electrical and a mechanical integrity and longevity. We also design and manufacture R radomes used for beam forming applications. Simple rear mounting plates are g standard on most of our horn antennas, with centre of gravity n mounting points provided on heavier and larger models. These i allow mounting in two t polarisations by removal and n refitting, but we can also provide the facility for 'polarisation u rotation', whereby the antenna can be moved through a range of angles of polarisation and o locked in position. M Our horn antennas are usually h supplied painted white or powder coated light grey. The millimetric s antennas are usually gold plated. i We are also happy to supply any n specified paint colour or custom finish. i F t Freq. The horns come in three ranges with nominal gains at mid-band of 10, 15 and 20 dBi with a spread of about 3 dB n across the frequency band. A full test report including antenna gain, beamwidth, and i VSWR is supplied with each horn. The horns a are normally fitted with an integral coaxial-to- G waveguide transition, but can be supplied with a waveguide flange. Mounting brackets are included at no d extra cost.
