COLORADO 80225 DENVER, WELCOME TO PUBLIC LAND STATISTICS 2000 Welcome to the 2000 edition ofPublic LandStatistics, published by the U.S. Department ofthe Interior, Bureau ofLand Management. This year's edition includes two new tables: Table 3-33, Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act Financial Update; and Table 5-9, Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act Acquisitions. Additionally, Part 4 and Part 5 have been completely reformatted and reorganized to reflect changes in how data is collected and reported and to incorporate the Bureau's new National Landscape Conservation System. The Glossary has been revised to include new definitions and to update definitions that were provided in previous Public LandStatistics editions. Public LandStatistics is available on the Internet. Please visit our national homepage at: http://www.blm.gov/nhp/browse.htm Note that the data present in the 2000 Public Land Statistics tables may not exactly match the BLM data in other publications covering Fiscal Year 2000 operations and accomplishments. This occurs because the databases that provide table data are not static; they are constantly being updated to provide the latest information, sometimes many months after the end ofthe fiscal year. We have presented the most current data available in this edition ofPublic LandStatistics. Your feedback and suggestions are always appreciated. We have included a comment card that you can cut out ofthe document, fold, and mail to our Headquarter Office. Any comments you provide will be used to help make Public LandStatistics as responsive to your needs as possible. We remain committed to publishing a Public LandStatistics each year that is timely, complete, and as helpful as possible to our readers. Vll
