Precisamos reconhecer a trajetória de mulheres na Biblioteconomia e na Ciência da Informação (CI), o papel da historicidade do  pensamento de mulheres, sobretudo as mais periféricas e subalternizadas, na formação do campo da CI no mundo e fundamentalmente no Brasil. Apesar da produção sobre as problemáticas que gravitam em torno da multicategoria “MULHER” estar crescendo, ainda existe um caminho árduo e longo, dentro ou fora da academia para ultrapassar as resistências também crescentes a esse movimento. Por colocar os saberes construídos por mulheres no centro da academia, mais uma vez reforço a importância desta obra e sua singularidade no campo da CI.

We need to recognize the trajectory of women in Library Science and Information Science (LIS), the role of the historicity of women's thinking, especially the most peripheral and subordinate, in the formation of the field of IC in the world, and fundamentally in Brazil. Although the production on the issues that gravitate around the multi-category “WOMAN” is growing, there is still a long and arduous path, inside or outside the academy, to overcome the also growing resistance to this movement. By placing the knowledge built by women at the center of the academy, I once again reinforce the importance of this work and its uniqueness in the field of LIS.
