Mission Goals of the North Alabama Conference • Provide Effective Leadership • Become Servants Like Jesus • Help Children to be Disciples • Help Youth to be Disciples • Establish New and Renewing Communities of Faith Core Values of the North Alabama Conference • Biblically-rooted Spirituality Conference groups will rely on prayer and Bible study as major resources for planning and decision making. • Servant-hood Conference groups will approach their work as servants of the church, the Lord, and the people He died and rose to save. • Compassion Conference groups will look at each other, our neighbors, and our enemies through the compassionate eyes of Christ. • Transformation Conference groups will seek to be changed, so that churches may be changed, so that people may have a life-changing encounter with God. • Equipping for Disciple-making Conference groups will seek to equip church leaders who will make disciples for Jesus Christ. • Inclusive Community Conference groups will embrace and include all people as members of God’s family. • Passion for Ministry Conference groups will focus where the Spirit of God is giving people energy and vision for mission and ministry. • Grace-filled Accountability Conference groups will be held accountable for furthering the vision and mission goals of the Conference. • Visionary Conference groups will be open to doing new things that will serve the vision of making disciples. • Joy Because Christ has been raised, and His final victory is assured, Conference groups will carry out their work with an attitude of joy and confidence. • Scripture Conference groups will always be seeking new ways to open and transform hearts, minds, lives and commu- nities through engagement with the scriptures. • Excellence Because what we do is done in the name of the Lord Jesus, it will be done with excellence. 2 United Methodist Church North Alabama Conference, 2004 Bishop and Mrs. Robert E.
