Description:There is an increasing trend within gynecology to move towards more non-invasive management techniques. These are less stressful for patients and reduce hospital stays and costs. As more of these modalities become available, physicians need guidance in choosing among the variety of options. This book will concentrate on gynecologic disorders for which both surgical and non-surgical management options are currently available, and exclude gynecologic disorders that are treated only medically, or those that are managed mainly surgically (e.g. invasive cancers). The book will describe the pathogenesis of these disorders, and available non-surgical treatment options, but also offer guidance on how and when it is appropriate to choose more conservative modalities. An evidence-based approach will be followed throughout.
