These data are organized into six sections, including Student Enrollments, Graduation Rates and Retention, Admissions, Academic Programs, Human Resources, Finance and Development. This publication is being made available to the campus in electronic form only. The document can be accessed by faculty, staff, and students as a PDF on the Institutional Research section of the College’s website at http://www.loyola.edu/IR. Accordingly, the College will inspire students to learn, lead and serve in a diverse and changing world. Loyola College in Maryland was established by priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1852. It was the first Jesuit College in the U.S. to bear the name of St. Ignatius Loyola and the second oldest chartered college in Baltimore. Loyola’s first “campus” was a modest house in downtown Baltimore. Loyola moved to its present Evergreen location in northern Baltimore in 1922. Loyola became coeducational following a merged with Mount St. Agnes College in 1971 and was approved for a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in 1994. The main Evergreen campus is a traditional collegiate campus in northern Baltimore City, primarily houses College’s undergraduate programs. The other campuses in Timonium and Columbia focus on graduate programs and boast convenient access for working professionals. All three locations are modern and technologically sophisticated. Graduate Assistantships are available ATHLETICS Fifteen of Loyola’s 18 athletic teams compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) of the NCAA Division I. Men’s Lacrosse competes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and Women’s Lacrosse is a Big East Associate member. Athletic facilities include the 3,000-seat Reitz Arena, the 3,000-seat Diane Geppi-Aikens Field, and the Fitness and Aquatic Center, where the Swimming and Diving Teams compete before a 500-seat spectator area in the Mangione Aquatic Center. TECHNOLOGY SERVICES Loyola College has extensive computer facilities networked for voice, data and video through a comprehensive system that provides accessibility among classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, student residences, the library and off campus facilities. General-purpose computer labs are located on the main campus in various academic buildings and residence halls as well as at the Timonium and Columbia Graduate Centers. Labs contain IBM PCs, Macintoshes, UNIX workstations and laser printers. Most labs are accessible 24-hours a day via Evergreen card. A high-speed communications link connects the campus network to the Internet. The word processing facility provides additional support to the College. Telephone service including phone mail is provided for all students in the residence halls. Long distance service is available through calling cards. Educational television and instructional television also are provided through Technology Services. Support for these services is provided through the Technology Service Center. Loyola is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education.
