Volume 1 of 2. These volumes present a biography of the life of John Locke, the English philosopher. Locke spent nearly twenty years developing his empirical theory of epistemology. He is known as the father of English empiricism and wrote many papers on this subject, as well as on his liberal constitutionalist ideas on government. This volume takes the reader on a journey through Locke's life beginning in 1632 and ending in 1684.
