They have guided us and enabled us to achieve things that without their help may have been impossible. One such guide, the MacLab king, Mr. Gwiazda, has made it possible for us to complete the yearbook. He has spent countless hours helping us with computer glitches. He has provided innumerable words of support during times of frustration. He has fed us when the afternoon began to drag into the evening. He even interrupted his sleep one Saturday morning to let us, and other members of school publications, into the MacLab to meet looming deadlines. Not only is Mr. Gwiazda a great person but he is also a great teacher. We had the privilege of his instruction in Humanities this year. He is funny, interesting and knowledgeable. What makes Mr. Gwiazda unique is that he brings himself into everything he does. He enters everything in which he participates with such immense enthusiasm. It is amazing to watch him interact with others. We have seen him engage the most introverted student. Without him there would be no yearbook. More importantly, he has been an inspiration in how to treat people. We would also like to thank the following people for going above and beyond: Mrs. Peyev, Mr. Aversa, and Ms.O’Malley, Erin Rabe, Katie Connerty, Nina Brilliant, Kerry Greene, Alison Speed, Courtney Lomond, Joe Lucia, and Chava Kronenberg. 1 LIBER ACTORUM ft * 4 i w ! * 1 II Ib^I H BfiPl l Pipll 1 VENI VIDI VICI Yearbook Staff Editors-in-Chief Cara Furman, Naomi Krakow Business Editor Courtney Lomond Layout Editors Kerry Hensley, Erin Rabe Layout Committee Ashleigh Jones, Megan Lawless Copy Editor Hannah Richardson Photography Editor Laurel Kean Photograhpers Amy Bonner, Nina Brilliant, Megan Halligan, Lindsey Megrue, Nary Peou Through the Years Editors Katie Connerty, Kenia Infante, Julie Jones Baby Pictures Editors Shannon Carthas, Alayne McKenna Senior Life Editor Kerry Greene Sports Editors Diane Connell, Alison Speed Senior Portraits Editor Chava Kronenberg Clubs and Organizations Editors Chana Ewing, Claire Higgins Academic Editor Imette St. Guillen Superlative Editors Joe Lucia, Aparna Majmudar, Lea Pilitsis Homeroom Coordinator Naima Abdal-Khallaq Homeroom Representatives Mary Beth Burke, Elizabeth Cheng, Ernani Dearaujo, Sarah Grandfield, Natalie Lambert, Pamela Leins, Ben Naimark-Rowse, Natalie Pierre-Louis, Dariely Rodriguez, Selena Tang, Daniel Watson Yearbook Committee isa Borelli, Tina Gao, Mary Hall, Anya Koshina, Stephanie Laffer, Tiffany Luongo, Katy Pierce, Barbara Regan, Beth Scagnoli, Erin Scanlon, Alfa Tiruneh, Emeli Valverde TABLE OF CONTENTS Res Scholasticae page 5 Headmaster’s Address page 6 Studentes Primani page 16 Res Athleticae page 90 Ordinationes Scholasticae page 128 Advertisements page 162 Traditionally the yearbook is the perfect opportunity for the Head Master to share some thoughts with members ofthe graduatingclass. You truly are a very special class. Last September seems so far away. We talked about your goals and your hopes and your dreams. Now this phase ofyour life is at its end and it is time to reflect a bit on how you arrived at this point. Take a moment to remember your teachers and the support sta—ff who challenged you and guided you and demanded the best out ofyou they deserve your thanks; your families who exa—lted in your triumphs, listened to your stories, and mopped up your tears they deserve your thanks; your classmates who endured the growi—ng process, suffered through the learning process, and shared your secrets you need to thank one another. Take a moment to consider: Where are you going? What will you be? How will your presence make this world a better place? Keep your focus on what is good. You can make a difference. Remember to be true to yourself. Remember also to be true to your Alma Mater. You have now joined a very distinguished group, a cadre of people who have stayed the course, you are proud ofearning that Latin School diploma. You have done that; Mrs. ketley-I.acambna you have survived; you have achieved yourgoal. And I am so proud ofyou. If you remember at the September assembly, I said, “Look to the left of you: look to the right ofyou. I want you to help each other make it through to graduation day.” You have done that. And again I am very proud of you. Finally, you have been given much and much is expected ofyou. You will not always be able to pay people back for what has come your way, so invest in the future. Take an active interest in the students at the Latin School who come after you. They deserve all ofthe best advantages we can offer them. And I will then again be proud ofyou. For me this has been a very interesting year. Remember no one will ever i take your place! Estis primi, semper eritisprimi! Mr. Haberstroh •Vi'IOi! Mrs. Edwards-Bagwell 6 1
