The theme for the ICCN 2015 is ‘Cancer Nursing Research: Global Strategies and Implications for Evidence Based Practice.’ The ISNCC Conference Management Committee (CMC) has pulled together a wonderful and comprehensive program showcasing the exciting developments in cancer nursing research. This is the first time that ICCN’s main focus is research: sharing knowledge, discussing research gaps and needs, and mostly, learning from each other how to improve translation of scientific evidence in order to provide the best possible care to our patients and their families, across the cancer continuum. We could not have been more pleased by the wealth, breadth and depth of the program, representing the comprehensive scope of oncology nursing research across the globe. It is also our pleasure to welcome all of you to Vancouver. It has been several years since we had our meeting here. Regardless if this is a return visit for you, or if this is your first time here, we hope that you will take some time to enjoy this beautiful and welcoming city. Go for a walk, enjoy the diversity and multi-cultural food offerings, sit by the water, visit some of the sites paying tribute to the history of our host country – whatever you do, make sure to find a little time to sample, even a little, all that Vancouver has to offer. Above all, do not miss the opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world. With colleagues from over 42 countries, we invite you to introduce yourself to someone new, engage in conversation with a colleague from a country where you may not know anyone else. Who knows what research ideas and collaboration projects might flourish from enjoying a few minutes of conversation! Last, I also invite you to continue collaborating with your international colleagues by joining ISNCC as an individual member. Please visit the ISNCC registration desk during the conference and sign up for your membership. Welcome to the ICCN 2015 and beautiful Vancouver!
