Identify the main idea, find meaning of words in context, passage comprehension and making logical inferences. Mathematics (55 Questions) Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, decimals, ratio and proportion, household measures and general math facts used in calculating drug dosages and solutions. Calculator built into the exam. Grammar (55 Questions) Contains basic grammar including parts of speech, important terms and their uses and commonly occurring grammatical errors, etc. The current exam target score is a composite score of 80%, but students can petition with any score. The petitioning process weighs this score along with your GPA, science grades and other categories. The exam score available upon completion of the exam. No printing. Only students petitioning for MATC’s ADN program are allowed to take the exam at MATC. Students are only allowed to take the HESI HP-A2 exam three times lifetime (MATC policy). You must wait at least three months to retake the exam. Please refer to MATC’s School of Health Science’s petitioning information process to make sure you are prepared to petition for the program. You must apply to the college and have an active program code. See an MATC counselor if needed. If you retake the exam only the highest score will be kept on file. All scores are automatically sent to MATC and recorded in the system. You can retrieve your exam score from your Evolve account or request a copy on the Pre-Admission webpage. See form request. There is no expiration to your score and can be utilized for petitioning at any time. 3 LPN – RN (Progression) Exam details and requirements The computerized LPN - RN exam comprises of 75 questions. You have two hours to complete. Students must score at least a 900 to petition for the program. The petitioning process weighs this score along with your GPA, science grades and other categories. Students can also use their MATC PN Comprehensive Exam score (900+). Contact the School of Health Sciences and provide them your score or request from the Pre-Admission webpage. Students are only allowed to take the LPN – ADN exam three times lifetime (MATC policy). You must wait at least three months to retake the exam.
