Table of Contents Introduction 1 Forget, the Past 2 God Wants You Healed 3 Follow God's Instructions Conclusion About The Author Introduction It is God's sincere desire to see His people well. Jesus bore all of our infirmities so that we could live a life free from sickness and disease. Therefore, I can think of no greater testimony than to tell someone that by the power of God I have been healed. Jesus, the Great Physician, has never lost a patient. Psalm 103:1-6 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. In this passage of Scripture, David is speaking to his soul. He commanded it to "...bless the Lord." Commanding your soul to bless the Lord at all times is vital for your deliverance. Why is this so important? The answer is two-fold: first, because it is God's command (Psalm 66:8,9), and second, because your soul— your mind, will, and emotions —will always take the path of least resistance until it has been trained to bless the Lord (Romans 12:2). Your soul will naturally go in the opposite direction of the Word of God. For example, if the Bible says, "You are healed," your mind will say, "I'm sick." If the Word says, "You are delivered," your emotions will say, "I'll never be free." If the Word says, "You have a covenant promise of prosperity," your will will say, "I want to be poor to get closer to God." Child of God, your soul will never, of it's own accord, agree with the Word of God. It is imperative that you recall what God has done for you in order to obtain your covenant promise of healing. Remind yourself of His covenant promises in every situation. Bless the Lord by remembering the provisions He has made for you through the Anointed One and His Anointing, Jesus! Forget the Past There are people who actually believe that they cannot be healed or delivered from sickness and disease, because the sins of their past are ever before them. They remember what they did wrong more than they remember God's promises of forgiveness and healing. They forget that God promises to forgive them when they sincerely repent (1 John 1:9). If you struggle with receiving God's forgiveness, it's time to lay aside the weight of past sins and believe the Word of God once and for all (Hebrews 12:1). The Bible says God will throw your sins into the sea of forgetfulness (Micah 7:19), and cast them as far away as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). It is time for you to do the same. In Mark 2:9, Jesus told a paralyzed man that his sins were forgiven, then commanded him to take up his bed and walk. Do you remember what happened next? The religious folks around Him got angry and He asked, "...is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? " In other words, when you're healed from a physical ailment, God also heals you from sin. Even if your physical sickness is a result of sin, the love, compassion, and healing power of God is available to overcome your infirmity. God's power is not limited to soul salvation, it encompasses healing in every area of your life. Psalm 103:3 says, God "...healeth all thy diseases...." Again in Exodus 15:26, the Word declares that God is "...the Lord that healeth thee." Now if God didn't mean He would heal all of your diseases, He would not have used the word all. Your healing is not based on whether the doctor can heal you; it's based on the Word and your covenant with God for the healing of your spirit, soul, and body. God Wants You Healed God is Jehovah Rophe, our "Healer." He healed people in the Old and New Testaments and He still heals today. The Bible says that Jesus has delivered unto us a better covenant with better promises (Hebrews 8:6). You see, your healing is directly related to your salvation, or your soteria, which means "prosperity, peace, wellness, completeness, health, and safety." If your sickness is something that the medical profession has not yet figured out, take heart. God has promised to heal every sickness and disease. I believe that if you expect Him to heal you, He will. Have faith in God (Mark 11:22). The Bible reminds us in Psalm 103:4 that God has redeemed our lives from destruction. There are certain diseases that can become fatal. If you have a disease that is literally destroying you, the Word says you have been saved from destruction. God is not going to sit back and allow you to be destroyed. He has crowned your life with lovingkindness and tender mercies. When you consistently yield to the Word of God, He will begin to satisfy your life with good things, such as: health, wealth, favor, and anointing. Believe that when you speak these blessings over your life, your youth will be renewed. If you desire healing, take God's medicine. In the same way you open a bottle of pills, open your Bible, and allow the Word of God to feed your faith, renew your mind, refresh your spirit, and heal your body. Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. He promises that the Word will bring health to all your flesh. God truly wants you to be healthy, just as He wants your soul to prosper (3 John 2). However, don't limit God to only prospering you financially. Prosperity is more than money. It's being in control of every situation and circumstance in your life. That's why health prosperity is based on soul prosperity. Whatever you have in your soul, will either benefit you or lead you to destruction. John said in 3 John 2, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." Therefore, it is the will of the Father that you are in excellent health. Whatever you do, Child of God, don't allow yourself to believe that sickness and disease is God's way of teaching you a lesson or getting your attention. That’s a lie straight from the pit of hell! That is not God's way. He never has anything to do with putting sickness, disease, or illness on you. His job is to heal you to the extent of your faith. If you are suffering with an illness right now, you may be asking yourself, "If it's not His will, then why did He let this happen?" Well, let's think about that. Don't you think God would be defeating His purpose to heal and make you whole if He made you sick? What would that prove? God is not the author of sickness and disease; He is the healer of sickness and disease. Remember the Scripture in Matthew 12:25 that says a "...house divided against itself shall not stand...." Why would God go against His own Word? It just doesn't make sense. God is on your side where health and healing are concerned. You can be sure of that. Follow God's Instructions Many people die before their time. Most fail to finish their course and enjoy the benefits of a long life. When they met Jesus, He probably reminded them that His provision for their deliverance was available, but they wouldn't accept it. As a result, they closed their hearts to the very thing that could have healed them. I am amazed at the number of people who are unwilling to do what God has instructed them to do in order to live. Some of them actually think it's time for them to die and that God is calling them home. Don't misunderstand me. According to Ecclesiastes 3:2 and Hebrews 9:27, there is an appointed time to die. However, the vast majority of people never live long enough to fulfill God's purpose and plan for their lives. I am born again, filled with the Holy Ghost, and I speak in tongues. I also know the will of God for my life. But I am not certain that I am ready to meet Jesus face-to-face right now! I don't want to hear Him say that I didn't get the job done. I want to make sure that when I stand before God, my course is finished and everything is accomplished. I don't want to quit just because life is hard. I want Him to be able to say "... Well done, good and faithful servant...enter thou into the joy of thy lord" (Matthew 25:23). I've got to make sure that I fulfill my call. Therefore, I am not willing to let anything take me out. I want to give you several practical steps to help you obtain the healing you desire from God. 1. Believe the Word for yourself. If you are sick, find scriptures on healing and put them before your eyes, in your ears, on your mouth, and deposit them in your heart. If you do this consistently on a daily basis, you will get the benefit of healing. If you allow yourself to be consumed with the Word, have faith in the Word, and act on the Word, you will be healed. You must believe in order to receive whatever it is you're after (Mark 11:24). It's not a good idea to claim to be healed by faith if you don't believe what you are confessing and praying. If you can become saved just by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9), then surely you can be healed from sickness and disease. God has already made it possible for you to receive the things His Word says you can have. Not only can you have what you believe in your heart concerning healing, you can also receive the manifestation of it. "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light..." (Colossians 1:12). The definition of meet, according to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, is "to enable, qualify, and make able." God has already made you a partaker of the inheritance of healing. Therefore, you are able to receive what God has to offer in His Word. Acts 20:32 says, "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." Not only are you able to receive your inheritance, but according to this Scripture, the Word is able to give you your inheritance. Through the Word of God, you can receive healing, because God has equipped His Word to do that for you. The New International Version of the Bible says in Psalm 107:20, "He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave." People look at this and ask, "How is the Word able to heal me?" God's Word is medicine (Proverbs 4:22), and if you will take it and receive what it has enabled you to receive, you will have your inheritance. Putting the Word of God before your eyes, in your ears, on your mouth, and in your heart will produce healing. However, if you accept the doctor's report when he says you're going to die, and let that take root in your heart instead, you'll end up dying and having a nice funeral when you could have lived 20, 50, or maybe even 60 more years! The Word of God is equipped to give you what you need. That includes healing! As Christians, we've got to stop dying so soon. It's not the will of the Father. When you die early, you leave your assignment incomplete. You leave what you have been born to do unfinished. God has equipped you to fight sickness and disease. You don't have to put up with it, unless you choose to be in poor health. You can get in the Word and make things happen when the doctor says healing is impossible. If I could find one person who would be diligent—someone who wanted a miracle, someone who would use the Word to strengthen himself to get up and walk—it would surely bless my soul. You've got the Word. All you have to do is treat it as a seed. Put it in the soil of your heart and watch it produce a harvest of healing. It can't fail! Now, you can't put it in every now and then and expect results. Anything you get from the Word will come as a result of your persistence. There were times in my life when I didn't have a choice except to believe that God's method works. I was fighting depression. When I made up my mind that depression had to go, I did whatever it took to get healed. I gave up television, movies, friends, even family for a while. I locked myself up in a room and got busy making my confessions from God's Word concerning my healing. I didn't need a telephone because I was only going to talk to Doctor Jesus. It was just me, the Word, and God in that room. That's all I had and I had to do it right. I couldn't do things halfway—confessing one minute and watching television the next. I'd be in the same situation a month later, wondering why I wasn't healed. When you are serious about being delivered, you will do whatever it takes. Let people call you "crazy" if they want. But when you come out of your time of consecration, you'll have a testimony that God's Word works. Our lives should reflect that the Word of God works and that we're not just wasting our time when we quote scriptures out loud. We've got to let the Word take root in our hearts. Some Christians will never know whether the Word works, because to them the Bible is just another book. However, it's so much more than that, Child of God! It is the only book that can get inside of you and produce the God-kind of results. Glory to God! You've got to get serious about this Word and believe that it will do exactly what it says, down to the last sentence. I believe the Word works and I am going to continue to believe it. I don't care what happens in the physical or natural realm. As far as the world is concerned, I don't care what I see with my eyes or hear with my ears. I will, however, always be careful about what comes out of my mouth, making sure that it lines up with what God says. No matter what happens, I will believe the Word. If your healing has been hindered, it may be because you've allowed information from the world to cause you to doubt the truth of God's Word. I don't care if you have a headache right now. The fact may be that you have a headache, but the truth of God's Word says by the stripes of Jesus you are already healed! (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24). I tell you the Word is true—it is the remedy for everything. Many people have tried to convince me otherwise, to no avail. It's too late to try and tell me it doesn't work, because the Word has been good to me. It has comforted me when I was lonely, fed me when I was hungry, and paid my bills when I didn't have enough money. I like what the old folks say: "I'm wrapped up, tied up, tangled up in Jesus, and the world can't do me no harm!" 2. Call upon the elders. James 5:14,15 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Have you noticed that every time God deals with sickness and disease, He deals with sin as well? In this passage of Scripture, God instructs the elders of the church to anoint the sick with oil, then He declares that the prayer of faith shall save them. But that's not the end. The Word says their sins will be forgiven. Are you sick? Do you need God's forgiveness? Have you called for the elders of the church? Extend your faith and expect to be raised up from your infirmity. 3. Agree on what to bind and loose. If you can get someone to agree with you to bind sickness and loose healing, it will flow into your life. I'm not just talking about getting someone to repeat scriptures with you. There's a difference. When you're expecting to be healed and you have another person who is expecting you to get healed, the power of agreement will cause healing to come forth. Matthew 18:18,19 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. According to this Scripture, you can bind sickness and disease and loose healing. When you loose the power of God in the name of Jesus, the anointing will attack the sickness on your body and heal you. Notice that the Scripture says "anything." Now if He didn't mean "anything," He wouldn't have said "anything." The Word doesn't say that it might be done, but that it shall be done. If we get together and agree that your cancer has got to go, it shall be done. The Word says it and I believe it. Besides, it is impossible for God to lie. He can't! Heaven and earth will pass away, but His Word will remain forever. Therefore, if His Word says it shall be done, then it shall be done! 4. Pray. Through the avenue of prayer, power is made available to you that is dynamic in its working. The Bible tells us that "...the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16). Your prayer will provide healing for you, as long as you ask for it in the name of Jesus. John 16:23,24 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. There it is. Maybe the reason a lot of folks aren't getting healed is because they're asking Jesus instead of asking the Father. The Word says you should not ask Jesus for anything. You must ask the Father, in Jesus' name. It says very clearly, "...Whatsoeverye shall ask...in my name..." (verse 23). Learn how to follow the instructions. You're walking around asking Jesus, the Holy Ghost, and everybody else to heal you. God has a method—a prescribed way of doing things—and you can't break His divine order if you want to get healed. The reason Christians don't get what the Bible says they can have is because they won't follow the instructions. They want to do things their way. God says that if you want what He's got, you've got to do things His way. Pray to the Father. Put His name into your vocabulary. Learn how to talk to Him constantly. Spend time with Him in the morning or on your way to work to gain understanding and direction. He's already given you instructions on how to pray in the name of Jesus. For example, you could say, "Father, in the name of Jesus, heal me. In the name of Jesus, set me free. Father, in the name of Jesus, touch my body." According to the Word, the Father has to do what you ask Him to do in the name of Jesus. That's the endorsement you need to get your check cashed. You can't take a check to the bank without the proper endorsement and expect it to be cashed. The teller will give it right back to you, because it doesn't have the right endorsement. But, if it's properly endorsed, the teller has to cash it. It doesn't matter if you look like a crook or if you're acting suspiciously. The check must be cashed if it's properly endorsed. Likewise, when you pray to the Father and
