Also available online at www.pchf1.org or www.openhearthinc.org Sponsored By 821GaySt.•Phoenixville,PA19460 (610)917-9890•Fax(610)917-9861 E-mail:[email protected]•Website:www.pchfl.org Dear Community Members, The Help Book 5th Edition, a health and human services resource guide, is sponsored once again by our Phoenixville Community Health Foundation and an anonymous donor. It has been developed through a grant relationship with Open Hearth, Inc. The Foundation’s service area includes the Greater Phoenixville, Spring City, The Vincents, The Coventrys, The Pikelands, The Providences, Royersford, Collegeville/Trappe, Charlestown, Schuylkill, Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick areas. The purpose of this resource book is to help increase access to services for adults and children in the service area by making information about health and human services available in a comprehensive and convenient written form. While this information is available online through the Internet, we also know that there are many people in the service area who do not have computers or who are intimidated by the thought of using them to find information that they may need. Thus, we have printed more than 59,000 English copies of the resource guide and have mailed them to every household in these zip code areas. The resource guide will also be available free to area nonprofit organizations, and at public places such as banks, grocery stores, and churches. To insure that it reaches out to the growing Latino population, we have published over 6,000 copies of the resource guide in Spanish and are taking steps to insure that every area Latino family and individual is aware of its availability. It is the hope of the Foundation and of Open Hearth, Inc. that you will refer to The Help Book 5th Edition whenever the need to find assistance for your family and friends arises. We urge you to keep it in a convenient place near your telephone. We feel privileged to have the opportunity of offering this resource guide to help increase service access. We wish you much success in using it for the benefit of yourself, your family and your friends. Sincerely, Louis J. Beccaria, Ph.D. President and CEO CHAMPIONSOFTHECOMMUNITY The Help Book I How to Use “The Help Book” The fifth edition of “The Help Book” contains comprehensive data on over 300 health and human service agencies and programs, providing over a thousand services to the people of the Greater Phoenixville, Spring City, The Vincents, The Coventrys, The Pikelands, The Providences, Royersford, Collegeville/Trappe, Charleston, Schuylkill, Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick. “The Help Book” is divided into the following sections: Quick Reference Pages: Provide non-emergency (administrative) contact numbers for helpful government and private services.
