(1) These rules may be called the Central Ground Water Board (Scientific Group 'A' Posts) Recruitment (Amend- ment) Rules, 1997. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their pub- lication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Schedule to the Central Ground Water Board (Scientific Goup 'A' Posts) Recruitment Rules, 1995, in serial number 3 relating to the post of Scientist 'B' (Junior Hydro- geologist), in column (6), for the existing entries, the follow- ing entries shall be substituted, namely:— "(i) For direct recruitment through the Geologists' Examination—Not less than 21 years but less than 30 years, as on the 1st day of January of the year to which the Geologists Examination relates. (ii) For direct recruitment on the basis of Selection by Interview.—Not exceeding 35 years (relaxable for Government servants upto 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government). Note: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (other than those in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep)."
