C. and Immediate Environs O. Norris and Rebecca H. Smith '9.309- r3fa i Publication 1978 I 1 Acknowledgements The tombstones herein recorded were viewed and transcribed by us with two exceptions; Haw River Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rockingham County, N.C., which was given to us by the late Mrs. C.L. Pritchett of Osceola, N.C. and The Cone Family Cemetery. Gr< 3nsboro, N.C, which was furnished by Herman Cone, Jr. Every effort was made on our part to find and record accurately all tombstones existing todayinthese old cemeteries. However, due to vandalism, erosion of stones and in many instances dense impregnable undergrowth, we cannot state with absolute certainty that we found allremaining markers. We would like to thank our many guides for their assistance in our exploration of the county and its bordering territory, especially Mrs. Margie Green, Mrs. Ruth Thompson, MissKathleen Hoskins, the late Mrs. C.L. Pritchett, Messrs. Poley Adams, Gordon Cable, C.H. Darden, Ned Dillard, W. Calvin Hinshaw, Clarence Lewis, Egbert Murrow, Jerry Nix, Garland Stout, and Ellis Swain.
