The l a n d s i t u a t e d a t and e x t e n d i n g between t h e e a s t e r n ends o f S p r i n g S t r e e t and Holloway Road Sandringham i s known as t h e "Merindah Avenue" l a n d and "Green B e l t " Reserve. The l a n d was p r e v i o u s l y used f o r sand e x t r a c t i o n and a s a munic ipa l t i p . More r e c e n t l y t h e Merindah Avenue l a n d has been used as an undeveloped g r a s s e d area w i t h t h e Green B e l t b e i n g p l a n t e d w i t h trees and s h r u b s t o form an "urban f o r e s t " as a b u f f e r between t h e i n d u s t r i a l estate and ne ighbour ing r e s i d e n t i a l areas. 1.2 The tests and a n a l y s i s c a r r i e d o u t by Pak-Poy w e r e f o r heavy metal contaminat ion . The evidence available indicates the areas most likely to be affected in order to assess and devise a more selective testing grid and analysis program. 2.
