Description:

Chosen as one of 2012's Best Mysteries by Suspense magazine, Marriage Can Be Murder -- Every Wife Has A Story -- is a Baby Boomer Mystery by the author of Retirement Can Be Murder and Moving Can Be Murder. Empty-nester Carol Andrews is thrilled when daughter Jenny announces her engagement. She's dreamed of planning her daughter's wedding since the day Jenny was born. But with only two months to pull together a destination wedding on Nantucket, Jenny insists on hiring Cinderella Weddings to organize the event. Father-of-the-bride Jim objects to the cost, and Carol objects to having her opinion ignored. When Carol finds the wedding planner dead at the bottom of a creepy staircase at a Nantucket inn, and the cheating husband of Carol's BFF Nancy is accused of her death, Carol has more to worry about than getting to the church on time!

Review

Amateur, super-sleuth Carol Andrews is at it again. Her daughter, Jenny, is on the brink of marrying her boyfriend, Mark -- who just so happens to be a cop. They even go so far as to want to share their big day with brother Mike and his bride Marlee. Yes, they're already married, but did so without Carol -- his mother -- and her beloved Jim -- his father. While at the Grey Gull Inn on Nantucket, they meet with wedding planner Tiffani Blake, who, unfortunately, also happens to be having an affair with Bob Green, the husband of Carol's best friend, Nancy. The fun really starts when Tiffani's body is found -- by Carol -- at the bottom of the Grey Gull Inn staircase, and Bob Green is suspected of her death. Jim seems much more cooperative this time, though he's still not a fan of Carol's snooping. Even Lucy and Ethel, the couple's Blue Roan English cocker spaniels, get involved in this investigation. In fact, the dogs give Carol clues proving to the reader that dogs truly are man's...and woman's...best friend. I am never shocked or easily surprised, but Santangelo does that in spades. I found myself surprised several times and I love that! If you want a great cozy and a magnificent read, pick up Marriage Can be Murder. You will not be disappointed. --Terri Ann Armstrong, author, "How To Plant A Body"

Santangelo...captures well the anxiety of a wife who must face the reality of her life turning upside down. Good thing she has her friends to help. --Blog Critics

Susan Santangelo may be the next Jessica Fletcher, the mystery writer and amateur detective portrayed by Angela Lansbury in the award-winning television series, Murder She Wrote. Susan's found a niche in the mystery- writing genre that just might find its way to the television screen. --Rita Papazian, Shoreline Times
