Marsh Morgan Thisyear'sTownReport isdedicated toR. Marsh Morgan,Jr. As Marsh would say, the guy that lives "up on the hill." Marsh has been involved in Town governmentsince the early 1990s. Heservedon the BoardofSelectmenfrom 1994-1999, and recently announced his retirement from the Planning Board after 10 years. He has also beeen on the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Economic Committee, and Master Plan Committee. He and his wife Sandy have over the years volunteered their time on behalfofthe Fire Department, votingactivities,andhaveprovidedlovelyflowersfromtheirformergreenhouse business to the Town. They have also shared some ofthe bounty from their garden, andSandyhasmadesomedeliciousgoodiesfortheTownEmployeesto enjoy. The dedication and commitment ofthe Morgans has been appreciated by the community. MEMOR1AM IN Philip Worcester Look Philip moved to Campton in 1970 following his retirement as Motor Pool Supervisor at the Boston Army Base in Massachusetts. He had worked in Bartlett during 1938- 40 as a member of the Civil Conservation Corp and loved the NH Mountains. He came here to help his life-long friend Al Moulton develop and build the Waterville Gateway Condominium Complex. He quickly became committed to and involved in the Campton area. He established Look Enterprises Inc. and was on ofthe six owners and developers of6 Flags Trailer Park. He also developed and built Mayhew's Trailer Park, nowcalledChesley's. He purchased from Bill Herting in the early 1970s Hertings's Garage on Route 3 and operateditforseveralyears.Seeinganeedforaffordablelandfornewhomeowners,Phil purchase a large tract ofland offRoute 175 in Thornton and developed "175 Estates" providingbuilding lotsformany localsand vacationers. UponarrivingPhilquicklybecameinvolvedwiththepoliticsandaffairsofCampton.He wasmotivatedtohelphistowndevelopandthrive. HeservedasaCamptonSelectman for eight years, Representative to the North County Council, the White Mountain RegionAssociationand DirectoroftheCamptonParks&.RecreationAssociation. He was a past President and Director ofthe original White Mountain Gateway Chamber ofCommerce and was very involved in the planning and building of its Information Center. Philserved twoterms in theNH HouseofRepresentatives District6 including the towns of Campton, Dorchester, Ellsworth, Rumney, Thornton, Wentworth and WatervilleValley During the 37 years Phil resided in Campton he tried to help in it's development and progressive growthwith pride and tireless effort. He was always guided byhis Mother's oftenrepeatedadviceof"Alwaysleaveyourcampsitebetterthanyoufound it." Hewillbegreatlymissedbyhisfriends, neighborsandfamily.
