References and Photo Gallery www.alp.it INTRODUCTION This submission is about an innovative, environmental friendly and established technology for “PRE-INSULATED” ductwork for HVAC installations, fabricated using “factory made” aluminum / polyurethane sandwich panels and specific accessories as alternative to the ductwork specified in the Project’s Technical Specifications. THE PRODUCT The proposed ductwork is fabricated using “factory made” aluminum / polyurethane sandwich panels and specific accessories. This technology, named ALP SYSTEM, has been developed at the beginning of 80’s and it has been considered a revolutionary innovation in the HVAC field. Fast to fabricate and easy to install, ALP SYSTEM pre-insulated ductwork can be adapted to meet every needs in HVAC installations. ALP SYSTEM pre-insulated ductwork are extremely light weight, about 10 times lighter than steel ducting, offering top performances with very long durability, energy saving, high rated insulation and negligible air leakage, without loosing anything in terms of safety, hygiene and fire resistance. ALP SYSTEM pre-insulated ductwork can be installed either outdoor or indoor providing, when exposed, a fine external finish. With installations in more than 40 countries around the world, in almost all the HVAC sectors, from residential to commercial, from food processing and electronics to pharmaceuticals and hospitals, ALP SYSTEM pre-insulated ductwork are definitively the ideal solutions for any HVAC installation. ALP SYSTEM pre-insulated ductwork comply with the strict national and international standards for these types of products and comply with all the international installation standards, such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, DW, etc. www.alp.it THE MANUFACTURER ALP, established at the beginning of 80’s, is the developer and the manufacturer of ALP SYSTEM, the Aluminium Pre-insulated Ductwork. Over the years, the company has expanded and developed an operational structure that today comprises n. 3 production facilities. ITALY - Headquarters and Production The headquarters and the factory, which cover a surface area of 6500 sq.m., are located in Calcinate-Bergamo, about 40 km east of Milan. The facility includes n. 2 Manufacturing Plants, Warehousing, Sales, Marketing Global Purchasing, AutoCAD Engineering & Design and Training departments. UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - Offices and Production The third manufacturing plant, opened in year 2002, is located at Dubai. The facility includes Warehousing, Sales and Marketing departments. TURKEY - Offices and Production The forth manufacturing plant, opened in year 2010, is located at Sincan – Ankara. The facility includes Warehousing, Sales, Marketing and Training departments. ALP is widely represented through qualified engineering and marketing personnel based in defined trade regions all over the globe and acting either as commercial agents, representatives or distributors. ALP is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Quality Certified Manufacturer, to ensure a reliable process in meeting the most stringent requirements. www.alp.it PRE - QUALIFICATIONS (cid:105) Numerous projects in more than 40 countries around the world, in various fields, among them: - industrial buildings - food industries - civil buildings - pharma industries - hotels - airports - hospitals - sporting centres - clean rooms - swimming pools (also with salty water) - surgical rooms - theatres (cid:105) Reference list of major worldwide installations (attached to this Submittal) (cid:105) ISO 9001 Quality Certificate for Production ISO 9001 Quality Certificate for Training ISO 14001 Quality Certificate for Environmental Management System (cid:105) Conforms to most well known standards (Italy, UK, Germany, France) (cid:105) The product is totally CFC-HCFC-HFC FREE, in line with international environmental norms. Fabrication process is also environmentally friendly and hygienic to worker’s health, as there is no fiber dispersion. IMPORTANT The fabrication process of ALP System ducts is also environmentally friendly and hygienic to worker’s health, as there is no fibre dispersion. www.alp.it 1. Product Description www.alp.it PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ALP System – Aluminum Pre-insulated Ductwork Ductwork shall be fabricated using ALP System panels, as follows: Air-conditioned Areas Plant Rooms Exposed to Weather Panel ALP 100RF ALP 200RF ALP 230RF Thickness of panel 21 mm 21 mm 30 mm Thickness of aluminum - inside duct 80 microns 80 microns 80 microns - outside duct 80 microns 200 microns 200 microns Rigidity 353.000 N·mm 353.000 N·mm 353.000 N·mm Finishing of aluminum - inside duct embossed embossed embossed - outside duct embossed embossed embossed All panels shall show embossed ALP logo and the printing of the production date. Ductwork shall be fabricated as per ALP Fabrication Standards, using original ALP materials & accessories as a whole. ALP SYSTEM PANELS General Characteristics Sandwich panels made of a close cell rigid polyurethane foam, thermo-bonded on both sides by aluminum foil. Aluminum foil is lacquered with a 3 g/m weatherproof and ultraviolet rays protecting epoxy varnish. Thermal Insulation Characteristics Thermal insulation characteristics of the panels are the following: - Insulating material : close cell rigid expanded polyurethane foam, CFC-HCFC- HFC FREE - Thermal conductivity: 0,0213 W/mK initial value 0,0226 W/mK - aged value, as per EN 12667 Standard - The insulation material is physiologically and chemically inert and insoluble, vermin proof, fungus proof, non metabolizable. - No relevant reduction of insulation, chemical or physical characteristics of the panels shall be measurable when conveying air in the temperature range of –35°C to +110°C. www.alp.it - The vapour barrier is granted by the aluminum foils covering the both faces of the rigid foam. Fire safety The panels shall comply with the following standards: - Class “0” as per British Standards BS 476, Part 6 and Part 7 FABRICATION Ductwork shall be fabricated strictly in accordance with ALP requirements & recommendations, using original ALP materials & accessories as a whole. Wherever possible, the maximum length of the single duct shall be of 4000 mm; this will reduce the possibility of air leakage at the joint and it will reduce the time required for the installation. Wherever necessary, the ductwork shall be reinforced using original ALP internal stiffening system (aluminum stiffening rods + PVC round plates). No relevant modification of insulation, chemical or physical characteristics of the panels to be measurable when conveying air up to the pressure of 2000 Pascal. Wherever necessary, VICAT plastic turning vanes will be installed in large metered elbows. Wherever necessary, inspection doors shall be arranged to allow inspections and cleaning of the ducts. Inspection doors shall be manufactured using the same panels and accessories. The ductwork shall be fabricated by a ductwork fabricator approved by ALP. A valid certificate issued by ALP shall be presented by the ductwork fabricator. INSTALLATION Jointing System - To grant an adequate sealing, ductwork shall be joined by means of original ALP aluminum joint flanges and slide-in channels, with the installation of a plastic foam gasket between the ducts to reduce to minimum the air leakage. Hanging System - Ductwork shall be installed using traditional rods & bars as per ALP SYSTEM specifications or, alternatively, as per the recommendations of the Consultants. www.alp.it 2.
