ALIEN HONEYCOMB the first solid evidence of UFOs JOHN PINKNEY is a screenwriter, playwright and national columnist. Another of his motion picture scripts, Needles, is in pre-production. Pinkney has written prize winning stage plays and hundreds of hours of TV drama. The latest of his logic books to be published is Think! (Macmillan). A UFO researcher since 1957, he conducted the first investigations into such internationally-celebrated cases as the Gill sightings in New Guinea. LEONARD RYZMAN completed his Bachelor of Econ- omics and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Australia’s Monash University. He also holds a Diploma of Education. Ryzman now works in personnel management. He has, since 1973, closely collaborated with John and Faith Pinkney in the field of UFO studies. Most of the pieces were collected by officers from the Royal Australian Air Force which, without public announcement, immediately despatched the material to the Pentagon laboratories for testing. But some of the wreckage was retrieved by private investi- gators—among them, the authors. This book chronicles our search for the smashed building blocks of what must have been “an aerial palace”. It reproduces the commentaries of eminent scientists, perplexed by material whose nature has defied their understanding; and summates the research project in the United States, which shows that the wreckage con- tains “unknowns”. The Queensland explosion has opened new vistas in aerial phenomenon research—chiefly because private citizens, for the first time, have managed to breach the iron wall of military secrecy that surrounds UFOs, to make fundamental new discoveries. But the work, our scientific associates believe, has only just begun. And the long, sad history of military coverups on UFOs convinces us that subsequent research should not be conducted on narrowly nationalistic lines. That is why, in the postscript to this book, we offer all the Queensland UFO pieces in our possession to the United Nations for further analysis. The Queensland explosion transcends the hardnosed, militaristic interests of the RAAF and the Pentagon. The gorgeous, hectically-colored wreckage retrieved from Green- bank promises to yield up scientific secrets that should be shared by all mankind. JOHN PINKNEY LEONARD RYZMAN 7
