TOYS: BASIC RULES FOR JUDGING APPLY Soft Toys - A soft fabric should be used, and should be sewn together neatly and firmly either by hand or machine. The shape should be good, firmly and evenly stuffed - but not hard and heavy. The head should be firm and there should be no sharp or easily detached parts for a small child to pull off. To be displayed in a space allocated of 1.3 metre x 1.3 metre. Points allocated for Skill in each craft, quality, variety, staging etc. This work may consist of any work done by the exhibitor showing A SINGLE EXAMPLE OF EACH OF SIX (6) DIFFERENT CRAFTS eg Machine embroidery, hand embroidery (only one type), dress making, beading, felting, paper craft, parchment craft, knitting, crochet, quilting, woodwork, cooking, cake decorating, folk-art , flowers or floral art, patchwork, art, china painting, photography etc. No restrictions—this means anything at all. Sets such as a plate of small cakes, a necklace, bracelet and earrings or a trio of doilies will count as one example of a craft. NO GROUP OF MIXED ARTICLES IN ONE CONTAINER IS PERMITTED AS ONE ENTRY. Simple props such as hangers and boxes may be used but should be covered and not obvious examples of an EXTRA craft. No late entries will be accepted. To be displayed in a space allocated of 1.3 metre x 1.3 metre. Entry to consist of six different crafts. Eg: sewing, knitting, embroidery, and painting etc. Exhibits to be benched by 12 noon on Thursday 19th October, 2017. Judging will commence at 1.00pm on Thursday 19th October, 2017. Entries close 4pm Friday 13th October, 2017. No late entries will be accepted. Six articles (hand made and machine) from each branch may include knitting, crochet, painting etc. Own Stewards NOTES TO EXHIBITORS: A list of the six crafts to accompany entry. Branches to display their articles in an area of 1.3m x 1.3m depth. If only part of the item is to be judged this should be clearly stated eg: Smocked Dress (smocking to be judged).
