January 2017 Meeting Minutes __________________________________________________________________________________ This AYHSC Monthly Meeting was held on January 12, 2017 at 5:35pm the Whittemore Robbins House. Members Present: Ivy Laplante, Karen Dillon, Colleen Leger, Kerry Austin-Smith, Stephen Porciello, ​ Bryan Gallagher, Carlene Newell, Joe Curro, Cindy Bouvier, Pat Egan, Megan Laurendeau, Cooper Schoenthaler, Ellie Egan TOPIC DISCUSSION ACTION Introductions, Student Advisors and community members all Ivy will publish November Accept Minutes of introduced themselves and shared their respective minutes on town website. the November roles in the Arlington community. Meeting Cooper moved to approve the November meeting minutes, Carlene seconded. All present approved the November meeting minutes. Student Coalition Project Purple game is scheduled for January 27th Ivy check in with Andrea Updates at 7pm. Razi about Mental Health Awareness Day (April The Student Commission on Mental Health 4th) activities at AHS and ​ Awareness (merging of AYHSC students and Ottoson. ​ Student Council) met before the winter break. Emily Brown is looking into the creation of a mural at AHS. Potential mural could depict a tree with available resources/ support services. Youth Resource guide is being edited and will go live on the AHS website. SAP-C Grant Cluster is planning an event at the State House. Ivy will bring updates to Updates Students and adults will meet with legislators to next meeting. advocate for an increased tax on alcohol. The event will be policy focused and modelled after The 84’s Kick Butts Day. Project Updates Officer Porciello’s SRO Holiday Prevention letter Ofc Porciello will was well received distribute similar letter before AHS proms. Should be notified by January 19. SBIRT Update: Screened 406 students at Ottoson. 4 were referred to mental health services. Next year AYHSC will screen 7 & 9th graders.
