This results in depreciation of world currencies leading to inflationary situation which adversely affects almost all the major economies of a world. In this adverse economic conditions, India sees some kind of soothing situation where it is marching ahead of all countries in the economic front and predicted to be the one of the great economies in a couple of years. The sole reason attributed to this rosy picture of India becoming super power is its strong foundation of banking and finance. This strong foundation of India's banking and finance saved her from the entire global financial crisis in the past and will save her from them in the future also. In this connection, I am happy to know that the Department of Commerce(CA) of our College is organising a International conference in the thrust areas of banking and finance. Sure, this conference brings some thought provoking deliberations in the area and act as a catalyst to bring the needed reforms which aids our country in the policy making in banking and finance sector. My best wishes go to the organisers of this conference and sure this conference add another feather to the cap of the college in general and particularly to the Department of Commerce (C.A.).
