These number (Pacific Sci. 57: 2003.). additions bring the total of known pteridophyte species from the island These new seven to 83. records, of them collected during an ascent of one of the highest peaks on Moorea (Mt. Mouaputa), were found the following three at localities. Moorea, from Belvedere parking west towards trail Col des 1) lot, Trois GPS Cocotiers; reading ca. 17°32'29.0" 149°49'25.6" W, 245 m, 24 S, ca. Dec 2003. Moorea, from Belvedere parking towards Marae 2) trail lot, east Tetiiroa ruins, GPS reading ca. 17°32'29.0" S, 149°49'25.6" W, ca. 245 m, 25 Dec 2003. 3) Moorea, trail up Mt. Mouaputa, along trail between GPS readings 17°32'09.2" 149°47'48.1" W, 291 m, and 17°31'42.0" 149°48'00.5" W, m, S, ca. 751 S, elev. ca. Dec 26 2003. Asplenium nidus L.: Locality #2, epiphytic, rare on buttressed angiosperm which common; common trees, are leaves strap-shaped, narrower than A. australasicum, with pendent Ranker persistent, leaf midribs, 1946, with Trapp COLO, (BM, PAP). Brownsey & Christella dentata (Forssk.) Jermy: Locality on #2, terrestrial Ranker trailside earthen bank, 1951, with Trapp (COLO, PAP). & Doryopteris concolor (Langsd. Kuhn: Fisch.) Locality #2, epipetric on rock wall of ruins, Ranker 1939, with Trapp (COLO, PAP, UC). Elaphoglossum savaiense (Baker) Diels: Locality epiphytic on #3, tree ferns {Sphaeropteris medullaris and Alsophila tahitensis) higher at elevations, Ranker with Trapp (COLO, PAP, 1962, NY). Elaphoglossum samoense Brack.: Locality #3, epiphytic on tree ferns {Sphaeropteris medullaris and Alsophila tahitensis) higher at elevations, Ranker 1961, with Trapp (COLO, NY, PAP). Gonocormus minutus (Blume) Bosch: Locality #3, epiphytic higher at elevations, Ranker 1967, with Trapp (COLO, PAP, UC). P, Grammitis tahitensis (C. Chr.) Copel.: Locality #3, epiphytic on tree ferns and {Sphaeropteris medullaris Alsophila tahitensis) higher at elevations, Ranker with Trapp (COLO, PAP, 1960, UC). SHORTER NOTES Huperzia squarrosa (G.
